so i gather that the computer you play gw on has a direct connection to the data center than hosts the gw servers with no routes in between? otherwise you will have experienced lag at some point while playing gw, or you're a liar.

Why are people so down about the double xp weekend? Don't forget there are people always joining the game so even if this event has occurredabout fifty times before, they still get the opportunity to partake.
Imo, if someone finds it easier to level to LS another way then fine, but playing Guild Wars isnt all about titles, and it can be quite fun to go out and get double xp for capping an elite rather than unlocking it in pvp with an alt and then using an elite tome to get it! Which I must add is a big cash sink and no viable for poorer players.

I am looking forward to this and will stop PvPing for the weekend.
1. It gives me a good reason to get as many skills as possible on all my chars since [continues at 2.]
2. I ran out of skill points on all my chars crafting consets in masses. Good way to get the extra xp while doing something different.
3. I get to see some areas that I haven't been to for years (and I really mean years) again.
4. I am saving A LOT of gold since I want to get the skills mainly for my new monk and my rit. Buying elite tomes for both is pretty expensive when you want all skills.
So overall, good weekend event imo.

Do not throw your money at people, you think everyone is privilege to have access to good internet connection.

I like this weekend. Everyone in my guild wants to go cap elites in groups, and I like seeing my character's XP skyrocket to new heights.

Because that's what the weekend event is! Whatever next weekend's event is, someone will complain about it.

Believe it or not, this event is actually good for skill hunters.
Prior to GW:EN (which just heaps exp on you), the limiting factor for the skill hunter title was often skill points, not money.

not too late for me....just started a new survivorete and hope to get to level 3 this time----and she still has some skills to cap so 30k xp will be appreciated.
And my monk decided to try for skill hunter and doesnt quite have all the skill points so this will give him a boost too....
and its gives the raptors another weekend off

It's good for those that need the Skill Hunter and/or Survivor title(s) but just another useless weekend for me...most of the weekend events seem to be a rinse-n-repeat for the last several months, at least imo...

If you're really interested in seeing your xp "skyrocket to new heights" go do some FoW HM with cons. You gain XP way faster doing that any double xp weekend event.

I've been wanting this weekend for a long time. With my Necromancer needs less than 30 elites to go, it'll be well worth my time getting double xp for them. Many people might consider this another useless weekend, but for me, it's a miracle.
